Spanish King Felipe XI to attend Atletico Madrid’s first ever match at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Atlético Madrid will play their first home match of the season at the newly built stadium – Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
They host Málaga today and the match will be preceded by a lavish 12-hour opening ceremony. Such is the importance of the event, that the Spanish king, King Felipe VI will preside over the event.

In an official statement, the club said: “We will have the honour of Felipe VI presiding the LaLiga match we will play against Málaga in the inauguration of our new stadium.”
68,000 supporters are expected to pack the Wanda Metropolitano while 200 million people are expected to watch worldwide.
