Barcelona to pursue for Nice midfielder once again
After missing out on Liverpool FC winger, Phillipe Coutinho, FC Barcelona are heavily linked with OGC Nice midfielder Jean Seri.
It is reported that the Catalan giants will not go back for Coutinho till next summer’s transfer window, but instead will now try for Nice midfielder Seri.
Jean Seri, who was linked with Barcelona in the last window, failed to seal his move to Nou Camp in the summer.
Liverpool fans can now rejoice as according to The Mirror, Barca will not back for Coutinho and instead try and pursue the Ivorian in the New Year.
Coutinho was ready to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window but Liverpool management FSG refused to sell the Brazilian.
After failing to sign the former Inter Milan player, Barca are ready to drop their interest but that won’t prevent them from making a deal with Seri.
The Blaugrana giants want to strengthen their squad and increase their squad depth since they sold Neymar to PSG. Signing Seri would help the team as they battle with Real Madrid in their La Liga title chase and also look to secure another Champions League winners medal.
Seri has been labeled as the “new Xavi” sure it would put huge pressure on the 26 year old to live up to that expectations but he is surely capable of doing so.
Last season, the Ivorian played a huge role as Nice challenged for the Ligue 1 title but eventually fell short and ended up third in the French league.
He helped his team beat Ajax in the UEFA Champions League qualifier this term before eventually crashing out against Napoli in the final hurdle.
