Karim Benzema reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal FC
Premier League club Arsenal FC is once again interested in signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The French striker is once again on Arsene Wenger’s radar and it seems like he will replace Arsenal’s Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who has been monitored by Premier League club, Manchester City for a long time.
City, who have been tailing Sanchez and wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window, failed to do so as the transfer collapsed in the last minute.
But with Sanchez’s Arsenal contract on the verge of expiring it seems like, he will sign with Pep Guardiola’s team when the transfer window reopens in the winter.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a long time admirer of Benzema and Spanish outlet Don Balon reports that Real Madrid will be willing to sell the player in next year’s summer transfer window.
The Daily Star has also reported that Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Benzema’s France team mate, Antoine Griezzmann, who plays for Real’s city rivals Atletico.
Zidane’s team are also reportedly eyeing a transfer for Juventus’ star player Paulo Dybala, thus opening the exit door for Benzema.
Arsenal meanwhile are also closing in on a deal for Monaco midfielder, Thomas Lemar who could cost the Gunners a total of 92 million. Benzema, who turns 30 this December will subsequently cost less than Lemar.
The Real Madrid striker has scored a total of 181 goals in 371 appearances for the club, but has had a poor start to the season this term.
It is also being reported that Benzema himself is hinting towards an exit from Los Blancos.
