Atalanta surprised everybody last year in Italy by securing an impressive fourth placed finish in the table, finishing above the likes of Lazio, Fiorentina and both Milan clubs. All of those clubs have spent money to strengthen over the summer however and now Atalanta must compete in both the league and Europe, which provides problems of it’s own.

It’s been a slow start to the new league campaign too for Gian Piero Gasperini and his side. Although matches against Roma and Napoli to kick off the new season were always going to be difficult, the Italian boss will have been disappointed to lose both, although he will have been happy with the way they bounced back after the international break to beat Sassuolo.

Everton have looked toothless going forward in their last two matches and they are perhaps starting to miss the presence of Romelu Lukaku, who departed for Manchester United over the summer. We think away from home on the continent following a few years out of European competition, they could struggle to create chances and the hosts will keep things tight and nick a win.

Ronald Koeman’s men lost 3-0 to Spurs after Harry Kane bagged two and Christian Eriksen got on the scoresheet.

Spinazzola will miss this match for the hosts. Aside from that, Atalanta have no further injury concerns.

Everton : Ronald Koeman has no new injury concerns. However long term absentees James McCarthy, Yannick Bolasie, Seamus Coleman, Ramiro Funes Mori and Ross Barkley remain unavailable.
