UCL Match Preview: Liverpool Vs Sevilla
UEFA Champions League Match Preview: Liverpool Vs Sevilla
Liverpool FC and Sevilla FC are all set to clash in the opening game of Group E of UEFA Champions League 17-18 this Tuesday night at Anfield. Both teams qualified for the Champions League through play-offs after coming 4th in their respective domestic leagues. While Liverpool will be looking to revenge their Europa League 2015-16 final loss, Sevilla will be looking to take early control of what looks like an easy group, at least on paper.
Liverpool will be looking to turn around after a 5-0 thrashing by a rampant Manchester City in Premier League while Sevilla will be coming into the match high on confidence after a 3-0 win over SD Eibar in La Liga this weekend. But home factor will certainly give Liverpool an upper hand. While Sevilla’s form on the road has been bad, Liverpool haven’t been able tighten up their defense yet as a result causing them lots of problems.
Jurgen Klopp will be missing right back Nathaniel Clyne and attacking midfielder Adam Lallana for most of the rest of the year. Reserve goalkeeper Adam Bogdan is also out injured.
Eduardo Berizzo continues to be without goalkeeper David Soria after his finger injury last month. Also, defender Nicolas Pareja and midfielder Guido Pizarro are both injured for the visitors.
