Match Preview : Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund

0 77

Tottenham will start their campaign in the UEFA Champions League when they will face a tricky test against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday at Wembley Stadium in the group of death.

Tottenham are starting the Champions League in the group stage. Last year, they failed to go through the group stage where there also were CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, and Monaco. They are coming from their second win in the Premier League. Currently, they are the fifth-ranked, with two wins, one draw, and one loss. Interestingly, they’ve failed to win at home; both wins were gained away. Their squad has recently been improved with Aurier from PSG, Sanchez from Ajax, and Liorente from Swansea, who will be a substitute for Kane. They too are starting in the group stage. Last year, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Monaco. They lost with a combined score of 3 – 6. They are coming from their first draw, after two initial clean-sheets wins, in the Bundesliga. Currently, they are the first-ranked in Germany. Recently, they were left without Dembele, who was transferred to Barcelona for € 105M. Hopefully their recent reinforcement, attacker Yarmolenko from Dynamo Kyiv, will prove to be a valuable player. Also, it’s great they kept Aubameyang, who scored amazing 31 goals during the previous season of Bundesliga and 7 goals in the Champions League.
