Both team’s players had to do a lot in the international break and are all set to kick-off Premier league once more.
Manchester United travel to Stoke to collect their fourth consecutive victory as Mourinho’s men look well armed to combat with each challenges which knocks in its way.
The pressure will, however ,be on Mark Hughes as he prepare to stabilize Stoke’s turbulent mindset as their defensive worries continues. In the last three games, Stoke have coincided 2 and kept 1 clean sheet but that does not make up the defensive problem that are hampering their progress now and then. Moreover, defender Shawcross set to miss out this important fixture through injury.
Jese Rodriguez may be the only star man in the squad who at least can bring out some optimism in the match, having scored against Arsenal in 1-0 win in the month of August. The new summer addition can make up the story of the day but that needs precision to break down the defence of the Red Devils who had kept clean sheet in each of the last three games.
Nothing to say any extra for the away side, whose performance bulldozed all critics regarding Jose’s first season as the club’s coach. His boys wrapped up 10 goals in those three games leaving no mercy. The lack of goal threat in the last season has predominantly disappeared because of the Belgium star Romelu Lukaku.
The player had collected three goals in the last three games with missing on the record to be the first United player to score in each of opening three fixtures through a penalty miss against Leicester City.
Man U have also evolved greatly in their midfield with former Chelsea man taking all the headlines. Nemanja Matic’s passing accuracy and perfect tackling skill has cleared out all the forehead lines of his Portuguese manager. For him, Pogba has updated his version and doing his job elegantly.
The eyes will also be on the Armenian, Henrikh Mkhitariyan whose in verge of creating his 10th assist for his teammates and the record of doing it in consecutive games. What a turnaround for the man who has registered just three assist in the last season.
Marcus Rashford may seek a return in the starting 11 as United was missing the extra pace against Leicester in the last game. That means Anthony Martial will be pulling his duties from the reserve bench once again.
Ashley Young and Luke Shaw will still not feature as they remain intact with their U21 duties in PL2.
Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are sidelined.
Stoke are without Shawcross due to an injury. That means 18 year old Willem can be handed in his debut today.
Stoke City: Butland, Zouma, Indi, Wimmer, Cameron, Allen, Fletcher, Shaqiri, Pieters, Crouch, Jese

Darren Fletcher will face his former club with whom he won the Premier League and the Champions league trophy. His team will make his occasion look grand but is it so easy to pull off a deserving victory over high flying United?
