French sensation back on Manchester United’s radar.
According to reports in Spain it has been claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United are interested in signing Antoine Griezmann in January and are willing to offer a fee of 92 million.
The French international came close to signing with The Red Devils over the course of summer, but could not due to various reasons and felt unable to leave the Atleti. The Spanish club was unable to find a suitable replacement for Griezmann, thus the French star decided to stay loyal to his club instead.
Griezmann, signed a new contract with Atleti which saw his release clause get doubled to a staggering 184 million, meaning that all the talks of a possible exit have ended.
But according to Marca and Mundo Deportivo the player’s release clause has now dropped down to 92 million, which means that a move could be back on the cards, as clubs would look to trigger the player’s release clause in January.
Atleti will be allowed to sign players in January and reports have suggested that a return for Diego Costa could be on the cards. The Spaniard reportedly has been linked with a move to Atleti and the deal could be finalized as soon as the January transfer window opens.
However, The Red Devils are not the only team looking to sign Griezmann, Atleti’s league rivals FC Barcelona are also looking to bring in the French star, who could be a potential replacement for their former Brazilian star Neymar. Jr., despite Barca signing Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol have claimed that Barcelona will approach for the Frenchman in January in order to strengthen their attack.
