Bolton close to securing former Arsenal star
Former Real Madrid and Arsenal FC star Julio Baptista seems to be heading towards a move to Bolton Wanderers.
It has been reported that the Brazilian is all set to sign with Bolton as they look to keep their Championship status alive by signing Baptista.
Bolton who are currently sitting at the bottom place of the Championship table, will sign the player on a free transfer.
Phil Parkinson’s side is in desperate need of some inspiration and they have decided to turn to the 35 year old, Baptista who formerly had poor stints at both Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Baptista was last seen in his country’s senior team in the TV Tournament called the Star Sixes.
The Brazilian has 47 caps for his country but is without a club since last November. He last played for MLS club, Orlando City where his contract came to an end in 2016 and made him a free agent. The player can apparently sign with any club, despite the transfer window being closed last week.
After being released by Orlando, he stated: “I’m not finished yet.” Showing his desire to continue to play in the senior level.
Bolton manager, Parkinson has reported that the player has been training with the team’s U-23 side and has also teased a possible signing of the player via social media.
Despite training under Bolton’s facility it will be hard to assume that they will sign a player who has been playing six a side football for the last few months, but if they do then fans might have to wait long to see him in Bolton’s white.
