Neymar has slammed Josep María Bartomeu on Instagram, calling the Barcelona president a “joke” for comments made about the Brazil star’s father.

The 25-year-old Brazilian starlet, who completed a move to Paris Saint-Germain last month after the French side paid his €222 million release clause, has slammed FC Barcelona President Bartomeu for his comments on Neymar and his father.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, Bartomeu admitted that he was disappointed by the way that the Brazilian attacker and his family handled proceedings, before claiming that placing trust in his former star’s father was a mistake.

“We made the mistake of trusting Neymar and his father too much,” Bartomeu said.

When an Instagram account posted Bartomeu’s quote, Neymar couldn’t help but respond in the comments section, saying: “Esse Presidente e uma piada” – which translates as “this President is a joke.”
