Swede Maestro set to display his charisma for United in UCL
Manchester United received a major boost in their attacking force as they have included Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their UEFA Champions League squad. Ibrahimović suffered a terrible knee injury accompanied by a broken leg in the Europa league game against Anderlecht last season in April.
After sustaining the injury, United’s campaign was hampered as they lacked a proper goal-scorer for the rest of the season. But since then he has made a quick recovery and re-signed new contract. Inclusion of Ibra will provide an extra dimension in United’s attack. He scored 28 goals before getting injured last season.
The Swede will be the perfect leader for leading the young players and also would mentor talented Lukaku, James Wilson and Martial. His inclusion will also help Mourinho in playing his traditional counter attacking football. And it also remains to be seen whether Mourinho prefers Lukaku or Ibrahimovic as his main striker or will shift in a 4-4-2 formation to utilise both, although the latter seems highly unlikely.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has never won the UCL in his playing career. Last season he won the UEFA Europa League for the first time in his career with United. This may be the last chance for him to add the UCL medal to his individual honours before retirement.
