Chennaiyin FC announce the launch of three new youth teams.
Indian Super League team Chennaiyin FC has decided to launch three youth teams in three various age groups: Under-13, U-15 and U-18. These teams will now compete in their respective national youth leagues and other various tournaments.
The club decided to make this major announcement on the club’s third birthday.
These three teams will play in three national youth leagues that will be conducted by the AIFF, the leagues will begin from this year.
The club gave an official statement where they said that creating these three teams will not only help these kids to grow and learn as a footballer but also will help the club in the future, in regards of their senior team.
Chennaiyin will now look for a continuous supply of these young talented players to their senior squad, once they are eligible enough to play in the ISL.
This is not the teams only motive, they’ve said that this is also to give the youth of Tamil Nadu a chance to kick start their football careers and also to recruit the best talented kids from all over the state,
The club’s technical director, Sabir Pasha has said that the club has done a brilliant job in reaching out to thousands of young talented players and helped them to build a career in football but this is the time to give kids from three various groups a proper structure to flourish within the club.
Sabir Pasha stated:
“Since its inception, the club has done a great job in grassroots by reaching out to thousands of budding footballers in Tamil Nadu.”
The club has also decided that there won’t be players from only Tamil Nadu but the club will also look to recruit young talent from other regions as well.
