Bagan Maestro Signs for Arch Rivals East Bengal
Mohun Bagan ace signs for their arch rivals on a free transfer, the club confirms on Tuesday
Katsumi Yusa, a Japanese attacking midfielder last played for Mohun Bagan signs for East Bengal.
Katsumi a Sanfrecce Hiroshima academy product started his professional career with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2007. Yusa, was then loaned out to Zweigen Kanazawa where he participated in the 2009 Japanese Regional Leagues. In January 2011, Yusa was transferred from Paraguayan División Intermedia side San Lorenzo to Indian I-League side ONGC. ONGC finished in 13th position of the 2010–11 I-League table and were relegated to the I-League 2nd Division for the 2012 season. Yusa stayed with ONGC during the 2012 I-League 2nd Division, scoring 6 times and helped them gain promotion back to the I-League at the end of the season.
On 1 May 2013, Yusa agreed to join I-League side Mohun Bagan for the 2013–14 I-League season. He won I-league for Mohunbagan in 2015 season and won Federation Cup in 15/16 Season. He also was the captain of the team. Katsumi also played for Indian Super League side NorthEast United FC.
On 22nd August, 2017 East Bengal officials confirmed that former Bagan Midfielder has signed for them. However ,29-year old Katsumi will be a great addition to Khalid Jamil’s side.
