Lucas Perez set to end Arsenal nightmare with a return to Spain
Arsenal forward Lucas Pérez is set to end his nightmarish spell at Arsenal with a £10.9 million move to former club Deportivo de La Coruña.
After a wonderful 2015/16 campaign with the Spanish side in which he scored 17 goals in 36 appearances, Arsenal signed Pérez for £12.7 million on a ‘long-term’ contract.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate the same form and made only 11 league appearances, scoring just once (in a 3-3 draw away to Bournemouth).
Terms are yet to be agreed between the clubs but Pérez’s agent Rodrigo Fernández confirmed that an offer has been made for the 28-year-old.
So the Spaniard’s agent told Sky Sports:
“I think the £10.9million that Deportivo La Coruña have offered Arsenal is a great deal. Deportivo received £12.7million when they sold him to them last summer. They are giving everything to make this transfer possible. Lucas wants to play but he has a contract with Arsenal. I am hopeful an agreement can be reached.”
Deportivo kick-off their La Liga campaign on Sunday with a visit from champions Real Madrid.
