PSG need some help at the back, but they have enough talent in forward areas, especially after acquiring Neymar, to put any thoughts of signing Mbappe on hold for another season. After securing the services of Dani Alves and Neymar, PSG have decided to go for the kill in their persuit of a big-name ‘keeper.
Oblak is a good target after developing into one of the most accomplished stoppers in Europe during his time with Atleti. The 24-year-old Slovenia international has become the key figure behind Atletico’s continued defensive excellence.
Oblak is among the biggest Atletico stars not to have renewed his contract following Fifa’s decision to uphold the club’s transfer ban.
While many reports suggest that Oblak is close to signing a new contract with Los Rojiblancos, there are news surfacing about his potential transfer too.
Presently, Oblak’s buy-out clause stands at around £90m.
According to Marca, Oblak should soon sign a new contract with Atleti, even though his current deal was agreed less than 18 months ago. However, the Rojiblancos are in talks with Slovenia stopper, and if reports are to be believed, then Atlético are trying to insert an anti-PSG clause into any deal.
However, PSG have a highly-rated goalkeeper in themselves Alphonse Areola, who has been tipped to replace Hugo Lloris as France’s long-term goalkeeper. The 24-year-old has been on loan three times but is now the club’s current first-choice.
