Salah signs for Sagolband United; Thanks to KFL
Social media platforms are often the best place to involve in football discussions, there are several groups formed for the purpose of discussions and getting latest updates about the sport. Kerala Football Live (KFL) is one such group formed for the same purpose as above, Now the members of the group have taken one big leap forward to help the footballers.
Their collective efforts have helped a footballer from the state, Mohammed Salah to land a professional contract with a Manipuri club. The Members of the community put in all the efforts to help him and is their first step towards a great goal.
Who is Salah?
Mohamed Salah, 22-year-old defender from Tirur, Malappuram started his footballing career through SAT, Tirur.His performances in the junior ranks and competitions earned himself a trial at DSK Shivajians, where he impressed their coaches and signed for their development side. He started getting games under his belt and continued his development with the Pune based club.
After spending a season with the club, Salah returned to his former Club SAT Tirur. He later signed up for Delhi United FC and represented the club in I-League division two. Though his side missed out a promotion to the top tier of Indian football, his performances helped them to earn a third place finish in the league.
Salah returned to Kerala after his short stint with Delhi united, as he donned the colours of SAT Tirur again. He made an impressive performance in the latest edition of Kerala Premier league as his side secured semifinal spot by overcoming tournament favourites SBT and AG’S.His goal against FC Thrissur shows his class.
It is Learnt that Salah has signed a new contract with Manipur State League side Sagolband United FC. He is the first Kerala footballer to sign for a Manipuri side. Salah remains thankful for the services rendered by KFL Community to find a new club.
What is KFL?
Kerala Football Live is an online platform formed in 2012 by a group of football enthusiasts from the state. The main objective of this group is the upliftment of Kerala Football through social media promotion and by other means. Like every football groups in the online platform, KFL was also started with an objective of uniting like minded peoples. As the discussions in the group grew stronger, they began to search for means to improve the state of football and footballers in the state.
That’s how this new and successful initiative of helping players to find clubs was launched. Salah was one among the first few applicants enquired about this new initiative. After a series of discussions and negotiations, KFL community helped Salah to find a new home. Group coordinator Rahul Rish, Player recruitment and operations head Junais P V, Social Media coordinators Gautham V P and Basim Ali were the master brains behind this initiative.Coach Salman Mir offered his full fledged support and helping hand in striking the deal.
KFL ain’t restricting themselves to a group where football news is shared and discussions occur. They foresee the improvement of football in the state through collective efforts.
KFL’s future plans include organising football camps and grass root tournament’s across the state. They also aim to conduct a football tournament for the girls’ category soon. Distribution of KFL awards for the ones who excelled in domestic leagues is the top priority of their wish list.
