Ghanaian Attacking Midfielder Courage Pekuson Signs For Indian Supe League Side Kerala Blasters
Ghana U-23 International Pekuson joins Kerala Blasters as they announce their second foreign signing after bringing back Iain Hume a few weeks ago.
The 22-year-old, who is an attacking midfielder, last played at Slovenian club FC Koper and was part of the Ghana Under-23s. He joins the Indian Super League outfit from Slovenian club FC Koper.
Predominantly a left winger, Pekuson can also play on the opposite flank and even centrally as an attacking midfielder, the Ghanaian can also be of good use as a forward. The Yellow Army started their pre-season by retaining fan-favourite players CK Vineeth and Sandesh Jhingan. The Sachin Tendulkar co-owned side has also splashed big sum on Rino Anto and Jackichand Singh.
Pekuson is seen as an exciting young talent, but he has a lot to prove amid the growing standards of Indian football. With the arrival of Pekuson, the club has effectively tried to replace former fan-favourite player Josué ‘Josu’ Currais Prieto, who decided to extend his contract at United Soccer League club FC Cincinnati earlier this week.
