Aizawl ropes in ex-Bagan player
The 25 year-old ex-Bagan and Bangaluru FC defender signs for Aizwal FC
A true local player, born in Aizawl, comes back to his roots to play in the I-league for Aizawl FC.
Lalrozama Fanai last played as a defender for Fateh Hyderabad in the I-League 2nd Division.In 2007, Fanai signed for Pune in which he was a youth player for them from 2007 to 2010.
In 2008 Fanai was called up to the India U19 side but he did not have a passport at the time so he could not play for the side. Fanai’s first U19 tournament was the 2010 AFC U-19 qualifiers in Iraq.He also played with the India U23 side during the 2010 Asian Games in which he played in one match.
Then for the 2012–13 season Fanai signed with Mohun Bagan. Then a year later he signed with the new direct-entry side Bengaluru FC. After leaving Bengaluru FC he Fanai joined I-League 2nd Division side Aizawl and helped them to gain promotion. Soon after Aizwal FC gained promotion it was announced that Fanai would not be re-signed by the club. After spending a season at I-League 2nd division side Fateh Hyderabad he now has made a comeback for his local team Aizwal FC.
