Former FC Porto midfielder signs for Mohun Bagan
Australian defensive midfielder Diogo Alexandre Alves Ferreira who last played for Malaysia Premier League club Penang FA signs for Mohun Bagan AC. The player will land in Kolkata for medical test and upon successful completion will sign a professional contract.
The player has represented Australia in U-23 category. He has played in A-League (Australian League) from 2010 to 2016. At the age of 16, Ferreira completed a successful trial with FC Porto and was signed to the club’s youth academy.At the age of 18, Ferreira returned to Australia signing for signing for Green Gully and 3 years later he signed for Melbourne Victory’s youth team.
He was a key player for two seasons, and was therefore promoted to the club’s senior team. At senior level he played for Green Gully,Melbourne Victory,FFV NTC,Brisbane Roar,Perth Glory,Persib Bandung and Penang FA. At International level he made 17 appearances for Australia U-23.
He also represented the Australia Olympic football team on seven occasions.Ferreira was born in Footscray, Melbourne and attended St. Bernard’s College in Essendon.
