Inter Milan sign former Viola midfielder Matias Vecino
The Nerazzurri sign Uruguay international Matias Vecino for €24 million.
Inter has secured the services of Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino and the Uruguay international has signed a contract with the Nerazzurri until 2021 after the club met his buyout clause.
Vecino has made 85 appearances for Fiorentina scoring 6 goals and providing 8 assists from the heart of midfield.
The 25-year old is one of the most reliable midfielders in Serie A and has won 13 caps for his country scoring once.
The former Viola midfielder had his medical at the weekend and spoke about the move before signing the contract till 2021.
The Uruguay international was motivated for making the move as he spoke to Inter Channel :
“I’m delighted to have joined and it is a big challenge for me, I have been playing in Italy for a couple of years now. I am at a good age and have the right experience. I believe I will enjoy my time here.”
Vecino will be reunited with his former Viola team mate Borja Valero as Spaniard also joined Inter Milan. Inter also signed Milan Skriniar from Sampdoria.
The new Nerazzurri boss Luciano Spaletti is keen to improve the club’s position after they finished 7th in Serie A. So he is looking to bring in new recruits to bolster the squad ahead of a new season.
