So the question that has been lurking in the head of every football especially Barcelona fan that whether Neymar will stay or leave Barcelona has been answered. The answer to this question is not a pleasant one for Barcelona fans as Neymar has agreed to leave Camp Nou for Parc Des Princes for a whopping 222m euros.
The decision has been made today in a meeting held between Barcelona board of directors and Neymar’s father who is also his agent. It is assumed that the tax fraud case has played a role in influencing Neymar’s decision to leave the club even after signing a contract extension until 2021.
Today FC Barcelona released a statement regarding Neymar’s transfer which is: The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club at a meeting held at the Club’s offices. The Club refers to the buy-out clause in his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros

Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause in his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.
Furthermore, in reply to the claim for the contract extension bonus, the Club has once again made it clear that the amount remains deposited with a notary until the case is resolved.
The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions.
