ATK’s star defender strikes a deal with new ISL franchise Jamshedpur FC
Newly launched Indian Super League club Jamshedpur FC has secured the services of former ATK defender José Luis Espinosa Arroyo, known as Tiri, to their ranks ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League. The player took to Twitter to confirm the move.

Tiri, who has previously played for Spanish clubs like Cadiz, Atletico Madrid ‘B’ and Marbella, joined ATK in the 2015 season from Atletico Madrid ‘B’ side and managed a total of 1,170 minutes in the league. He stabilized the ATK back four playing alongside Indian veteran Arnab Mondal.
The left footed player, who plays primarily as a centre back, can also slot in as a left back if required. In his first full season, the defender guided the Kolkata based club to the semi-finals where they eventually lost to Chennaiyin FC.
After the ISL season, Tiri returned to Atleti B but again came back to ATK for the 2016 edition of ISL. Tiri was very solid in defence for ATK and his impressive performances helped them reach the finals against Kerala Blasters. Atk won the title for the 2nd time by defeating Kerala Blasters on penalties.

So the newcomers are looking to be very active in the transfer market as their manager Steve Coppell is building a formidable defensive line. So it will be very difficult to score against Jamshedpur as their backline has Tiri and the club’s first round draft pick up Anas Edathodika and well-renowned goalkeeper Subrata Pal is also there between the woodwork.
