Liverpool’s Lazar Markovic in Fiorentina’s radar
The Reds have not included the Serbian winger in their pre season friendlies in Germany as he is having talks for a switch to Fiorentina.
The Serbia international is surplus to requirements at Anfield and has spent the last two seasons out on loan, first at Fenerbahce and then Sporting Lisbon before returning to the Premier League for a spell at Hull City.
Markovic did play 45minutes in Liverpool’s first friendly against Tranmere but has been excluded for their trip to Hong Kong to play in the Asia Trophy.

It is understood that the 23-year old has met the La Viola to discuss a move but according to reports Liverpool are holding out for a £16m transfer fee.
Watford are also keen to make a move for the Serb but the Hornets are not ready to match Liverpool’s asking price, making the deal unlikely.

So a move to Serie A seems certain, as the 23-year old will look rejuvenate his career. Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2014, he was a very exciting prospect back then. But his career from then onwards have not been great as he failed to make an impact at Anfield and his loan spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting and Hull City have not been great to have a future at Merseyside. So a move to Serie A will offer him a chance to prove himself at the higher level.
