As the music world still recovers from the shocking and premature demise of Chester Bennington, Ipswich Town Football Club have expressed their condolences to the friends and family of the Linkin Park’s iconic lead vocalist.

Bennington, who was a renowned singer and lyricist, was a supporter of the English club. His father Lee Bennington had a strong association with Ipswich and introduced his son to the team that would become an important part of the Bennington household. Previously, Chester had also revealed his desire to perform at the Portman Road, the stadium of Ipswich Town FC.

Ipswich Town, who are currently playing in the Championship, are one time winners of English League title in 1962 and have also won the FA Cup in 1978 and UEFA Cup in 1981. The Tractor Boys, as they are nicknamed, made their last appearance in the Premier League in the 2001-2002 season.
