Manchester City in advanced talks with Brazilian right-back
Brazilian right-back Danilo is reported to be close on joining Manchester City.
Earlier reports surfaced that Chelsea were in advanced talks with Real Madrid to sign Danilo fending off interest from Juventus but according to latest reports City could well be Danilo’s final destination after Pep Guardiola personally convinced him to join the blue half of Manchester.

The 26-year-old Brazilian international was highly regarded during his time at Porto and that awarded him a move to the Santiago Bernabeu for a reported €31.5m on the eve of the 2015-16 season. His time at the Bernabeu hasn’t gone quite as expected as he was at the receiving end of the fans’ criticism due to some high profile mistakes. But he came back strongly at the end of the last season and that could have tempted Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester City to battle for his signature.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Manchester City are in advanced talks with Real Madrid to secure Danilo’s services. Spanish publication Marca echoed the same voice as well as Spanish radio station Cadena SER who claims that City are ready to match Madrid’s valuation of around €30m-€35m.
Danilo, if joins City, would be their second right-back recruit this summer having already signed up Kyle Walker from Tottenham. Although primarily a right-back, Danilo can play as a defensive midfielder and as a left-back too – something that surely has caught the attention of Guardiola.
