Romero signs new Manchester United deal
Sergio Romero stays at Manchester United after signing a new contract which keeps him at the club till 2021.
The Argentine who made 18 appearances for the club and played a key role in winning the Europa League.
He has been given chances in Cup matches whereas De Gea was preferred in the league. So next season again he will compete with youngster Joel Pereira and David De Gea.

The Spaniard has been continuously linked with Real Madrid and reports suggesting that the Spanish giants have rekindled their interest in the 26-year old Spain international and will launch a bid this summer. So it still remains to be seen that whether United can retain the services of their first choice goalkeeper, David De Gea.
Romero was delighted as he said:
“I am delighted to have signed a new contract. Who wouldn’t want to be at the biggest club in the world?
“We have great goalkeepers here and we are always learning from each other. Of course, it was a very proud moment for me and my family to be part of the Europa League final, and I am looking forward to helping the team build on last season’s success in 2017-18.”
“Sergio is a great goalkeeper and professional. He had a good season and outstanding performances, especially in our Europa League success. Sergio deserves his contract, and for Manchester United to have Sergio and David is amazing in such an important role.”
Despite being the second choice for Manchester United Romero has firmly maintained his place in the Argentina national side, being their no.1 goalkeeper and starting all the World Cup Qualifiers for the Albiceleste.
