After a lot of dilemmas Tiemoue Bakayoko finally signs for Chelsea today with around a 40 million transfer fee with a contract of 5 years. He will wear the no 14 jersey this season for Chelsea.

There were a lot of speculations over his future. He was one of the main Chelsea targets through out the whole summer. The deal was about to finalise and at the last moment Manchester United entered the race. There was a growing possibility over hijacking another deal from Chelsea by Mourinho and Bakayoko’s twitter handle posts were also very confusing. But finally he was seen in a dinner with David Luiz and Willian two days ago and yesterday he was seen in the Chelsea training Ground at Cobham talking with Antonio Conte. These things were proving that the deal of Bakayoko from Monaco to Chelsea going to take place quickly.

The French Midfielder had a old injury at the knee. So this was also a reason of the delay of his medical at Chelsea and so finalising the deal between the two clubs took a good bit of time.

But finally Conte has got his man now. He wanted Bakayoko from the beginning of the transfer window as he scouted Bakayoko himself in some Monaco’s Champions League matches. There is some interesting comments on Bakayoko from the former Chelsea legend Makalele.

He said that the young French Midfielder had some off field issues to deal with and Makalele himself gave some time to Bakayoko to overcome those problems. He also added that the young midfielder is a very good passer ,runs well and clinical in interception but Chelsea needs to give some time to this midfielder to settle with the physicality of Premier League.

Chelsea were failing to sign their major summer transfer targets before this one.Antonio and the Chelsea fans were fuming at the Chelsea Board and the pressure was increasing day by day. This deal will somehow lower the pressure on the Board. Now we have to see whom they sign next in this summer transfer window.
