The Brazilian has agreed to terms with the Premier League side but changed his mind at the last minute by a whopping offer from PSG.

The former Barcelona and Juventus man was set to join Manchester City to reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola.
Terms were also agreed with the player and the club back in June but the Brazilian changed his mind and moved to Paris. Reports suggest that Les Parisians were offering the double wages than Premier League side and that may be the cause for the last moment turn around.

City chiefs were expecting the Brazilian to land in Manchester only to see him undergo medical at Paris. City had persuaded him to terminate the contract at Juventus and join the Premier League side, but reports suggest that PSG has offered double and secured the services of the Brazil international.

Alves was apologetic towards City coach and former Barcelona boss Guardiola before he lauded his new employer’s ambitions and addressed his family’s needs.

Sporting director Antero Henrique and his assistant Maxwell — Les Parisiens’ recently retired former left-back — worked tirelessly to land Alves and that the latter’s friendship with his compatriot played a key role in the deal.
Alves gives PSG the experience boost they clearly needed after last season’s disappointment in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

However, Alves also brings a winning mentality with him that will aid Unai Emery’s men and boasts seven league (six in La Liga and one in Serie A), six domestic cup (five Copa del Rey and one Coppa Italia), three Champions League and two Europa League titles in a collection of 30 pieces of silverware collected during his career in Europe.

On the other hand, Manchester City must not lose hope as they were trying tirelessly to land the Brazilian since April, but now they have to look for an alternative option. They are also linked with Benjamin Mendy of Monaco and are hoping to land him soon.
