India U23 suffered a shock defeat to Singapore U23 0-1 in the second international friendly held today as a part of their preparations for the forthcoming AFC U23 qualifiers which is slated to be held Doha later this month.

Ikhsan Fandi’s second half penalty helped the home side to claim victory over Stephen Constantine’s men.

The match started with the hosts dictating the tempo of the game and making early efforts on goal. Thanks to Indian custodian Vishal kaith as his performances in front of goal helped the blues not to concede in the first half. The visitors first effort on goal came in the 26th minute as Nikhil’s effort failed to test the keeper. The halftime score was equal as both sides failed to break the deadlock.

The second half saw Indian side comceeding a penalty in the 52nd minute, for a challenge made by Indian defender Salam Ranjan Singh. Though the hosts took the lead , the visitors had created several chances to equalise but failed to find the back of net.
