Inter Milan sign young centre-back Milan Skriniar
Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Slovakian centre-back Milan Škriniar on a five-year deal from UC Sampdoria.
The 22-year-old began his career at the hometown club – Žiar nad Hronom (now known as FK Pohronie). He then joined the country’s current champions MŠK Žilina.

Škriniar made his first-team debut, at the age of 17 and went on to make 93 appearances in all competitions for the club and also scoring 13 times. During the 2011-12 campaign, he completed the double with Žilina, winning the league as well as the Super Cup.
Sampdoria then signed him during the 2016 January transfer window. Last season, Škriniar finished the campaign as the youngest defender to have made at least 35 appearances in Serie A.

Internationally, Škriniar has played for every age group before making his senior debut in May last year. He was also part of Slovakia’s Euro 2016 squad.
This summer, Škriniar was part of Slovakia’s Euro U-21 side, starting all three matches and recording a tournament high 13 clearances. His performance earned him a place in the UEFA’s Team of the Tournament.
