Mario Gotze Returns to Train with Borussia Dortmund after a Successful Recovery
Borussia Dortmund player and World Cup winner Mario Gotze returned to his former club Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich and signed a four-year contract with the club. After his arrival, he was constantly interrupted by muscle injuries and had only 16 appearances for the club scoring 2 goals in which he played only once in 2017.
The world champion suffering from muscle injuries in the recent months led to an investigation from which it was found that he was suffering from metabolic disorders which made it necessary to take him out of training for an unspecified amount of time. After that, he was not seen in action for the club. On 23rd June he posted a photo on his Instagram account of him running which increased the hopes of BVB fans that Gotze was back. Later he said that in the last few months he went through a successful treatment and couldn’t wait to get on the pitch for the club.
“ First, I am very proud of BVB teammates and I am also happy that they took home the DFB Cup. The pictures of all of you, the fans celebrating in the city reminded me of my first victories with the club. Second I want to congratulate my teammates of the German national team for winning the FIFA Confederations Cup and also the u-21 team for winning the u-21 European Championships.” The following day he had the 3rd stage of his recovery program and it was successful and was finally allowed to train with the club. Borussia Dortmund travel to Rot Weiss Essen on July 11th and Gotze may travel with the club making his return after Such a career ending disorder.
