Alexandre Lacazette signs for Arsenal
Arsenal finally got the man who can make them great again.
Arsenal have completed the signing of French striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for a club record £46.5m fee on a five-year deal.
Arsene Wenger has tracked the France international for a number of years and has eventually landed the striker who scored 37 goals in all competitions last season. Laccazete is known in Ligue 1 for his powerful shots and deadly finishing.
Lacazette scored 129 goals in 275 matches in all competitions for Lyon after breaking into the first team in the 2009-10 campaign. His league tally last season was bettered by only Paris St-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, with 35.
Lacazette had previously been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid and was said to have his heart set on,but Atletico’s transfer ban prevented him from joining them. Wenger has already secured the services of versatile defender Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer this summer.
Reports say that Wenger wants the club to sign Mahrez quickly.Reports also say that Arsenal is still linked with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Kylan Mbapp while Sanchez and Ozil yet to reniew their contracts.
