Leandro Paredes has joined Zenit from Roma in a deal potentially worth up to €27 million.

The 23-year old has agreed on a four-year contract with the Russian Premier League side.
Roma confirmed they have agreed to a minimum fee of €23m, which could rise by up to €4m based on team and player performance bonuses.

Paredes is a youth product of Boca Juniors academy and he initially joined Chievo Verona temporarily in January 2014 and was loaned to Roma in July on the same year.

He was finally signed by the Giallorossi permanently from Boca Juniors in June 2015 but spent the next season on loan at Empoli.

Paredes started in only15 matches out of the 27 Serie A games he featured, as Spaletti used him a lot as a substitute. He bagged three goals along with an assist in the 2016/17 season for Roma.

He received his first Argentina cap from new head coach Jorge Sampaoli in a friendly against Singapore in June, scoring one and setting up another in the 6-0 win.

Paredes becomes the 2nd player to leave the Giallorossi this summer after the departure of Mohammed Salah to Liverpool. But they have also brought in Rick Karsdorp from Feyenoord and Lorenzo Pellegrini from Sassuolo.
