Deportivo Alavés have completed the signing of Enzo Zidane from Real Madrid on a three-year contract.

Enzo Zidane is the son of France legend and current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane. He joined the club in 2004 as a 9-year-old and made his way through the ranks, playing for Real Madrid Castilla before joining Alavés.

The 22-year-old midfielder made a solitary appearance for the first team, coming on as a substitute in Real’s Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa, while also scoring a goal in their 13-2 aggregate victory.

A statement on Alavés’ official website read:

“Deportivo Alavés wants to welcome Enzo Zidane and wishes him the best of luck for the new season. Welcome, Enzo!”

Young Zidane has always been known for his great potential. He can act on the entire front of attack, either from the center, or, the left and right flanks. His technique, skill in the one on one and good shots make him an exciting prospect and he will be hoping to prove his mettle in the attack.

Alavés had a wonderful campaign last season. After earning promotion from the second division as champions, they finished 9th in the league table while they also reached the final of the Copa del Rey. Alavés’ first win of the league campaign came against Barcelona.

Enzo has played 78 games for the Castilla team in which he has scored 7 goals and conceded 15 assists.

Various major Spanish outlets also reported that Real Madrid have inserted a buy-back clause in the deal, a thing that has benefited them in case of Álvaro Morata and Dani Carvajal.
