Indian Colts suffered narrow defeat to Spanish side AD Alcorcorn

In a friendly match held today India U17 suffered a narrow defeat to Spanish side AD Alcorcorn for a solitary goal. This is their first defeat in 10 games since their loss to Portuguese side Sporting CP.The Blues created several chances in the game but failed to capitalize on their chances created.

The first half saw Luis Norton’s side struggling to create chances early on. Sanjiv Stalin had the best chance to grab the lead but his shot went straight into the hands of keeper. As the game advanced Boris linked with Abhijeeth in the box but his final attempt on goal went well over the bar. There were several half chances in the first half but Indian side couldn’t break the deadlock.

As the game advanced to the second half, Indian side saw a golden opportunity missed by Abhijeeth who failed to find the net after an hour mark. Seconds later that miss proved to be a costly one as the Spanish side broke the deadlock in 67th minute. Trailing by a solitary goal, Indian colts tried everything to equalize and get a grip on the game, But Alcorcon defense blocked off every attempt.

Luis Norton’s side will head to United States to play friendly matches against strong opponents in an attempt to gain valuable match experience ahead of upcoming U17 World Cup2017.
