East Bengal in talks with India international defender
Just yesterday, the news of the Red and Gold roping in Salam Ranjan Singh and Gabriel Fernandes made headlines in the football news portals all over India. Before the passage of 24 hours, the club is now linked to another prominent name in Indian football.
According to sources, East Bengal officials have had talks with Bengaluru FC Right-Back Rino Anto. Both the parties had initial conversation regarding personal terms. Anto will take part in the ISL draft, but in case he remains unsold then meeting up his financial demands from a suitable I-League club would become tough. The TFA Product is giving a serious thought to the proposal of East Bengal as sources claim.
Rino Anto is no stranger to Kolkata football. After graduating from Tata Football Academy, the player started his senior career back in 2008 with Mohun Bagan. After an unsuccessful stint at Kolkata, he left for Salgaocar. From 2013, he is playing for BFC and has become an integral part of it. Anto also tasted his trade in ISL for Atletico de Kolkata and has 6 international caps under his name.
East Bengal already have two Right-Backs in the squad in the form of Rahul Bheke and Samad Ali Mallik. The installation of Anto if happens will only add to the depth of the squad especially in the department of defence.
