Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli extends his contract
Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli has signed a new one-year contract with the club after their promotion to the Serie B.
Lucarelli joined Parma in 2008 and was part of the squad that was relegated from the Serie A in 2015. Re-founded in Serie D as Parma Calcio 1913, Lucarelli remained the only player to stay at the club.

Parma then earned back-to-back promotion and currently are part of the Serie B set-up.
On signing the new deal, the 39-year-old will extend his stay with I Gialloblù until June, 2018.
Lucarelli holds the club record for being the only player in history, to play in four different leagues (Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro and Serie D), scoring in each of them and getting three promotion in three different categories. He is also the club’s fourth highest appearance maker with 317 appearances.
Over the years, Lucarelli has earned huge popularity within the fans for giving his absolute everything on the field and for staying with the club during its difficult times.
