The Spanish veteran of Fiorentina preparing for a move to Inter
Luciano Spalletti had been eyeing the Spanish veteran for quite a long time and as per the things stand Valero looks certain for a Inter move.
Fiorentina are reportedly ready to accept a €7m offer from Inter for midfielder Borja Valero. According to Sky Sport Italia, after several days of negotiations, the Viola are prepared to accept a discount on their €10m asking price. The cost of the operation will be circa €7m.
He is expected to replace Ever Banega at Inter Milan as the latter has failed to impress in a turbulent season for the La Beneamata, which saw three coaches – Roberto Mancini, Frank De Boer and Stefano Pipli – being sacked.
Banega, who arrived in Milan on a free transfer from Sevilla last summer, is reportedly preparing for a return to Sevilla. Banega’s agent confirmed that a return to Spain is imminent. Speaking to
TuttoMercatoWeb, Marcelo Simonian said:
“It is 99 percent certain that Ever will go to Spain for a fee much inferior to what has been circulating in the media these days. An agreement has already been reached.”
Spalletti wanted Valero in his squad since the former’s Roma days and it seems that his wish is soon going to be fulfilled.
The 32-year-old has been in Florence since the summer of 2012 and was under contract to June 2019. In the 2016/17 campaign, Borja Valero made 40 appearances and had an overwhelming tally of 2 goals and 10 assists.
