Mario Balotelli extends his contract with OGC Nice
Mario Balotelli has signed a new one-year contract extension with Ligue 1’s new top contender OGC Nice. The deal is set to keep him at the club until June, 2018.
The 26-year-old joined Les Aiglons last season on a free transfer and since then has been an integral part of the Nice squad, scoring a hefty 17 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions, his best goal-scoring exploit in a single campaign.

Nice had a remarkable campaign last season in which they finished third in the league table and thus, qualified for the Champions League qualifying rounds.

A statement on the club’s official website read:
“Despite a large amount of interest, the Italian international compromised financially to continue, just as he had always intended to during the break, his adventure in Nice, favouring the sporting aspect and following his heart.”
Balotelli further expressed his feelings on his official Instagram account.
Balotelli will return to training on Monday along with his teammates as they prepare for their Champions League group stage qualifiers.
