Manchester United will have to wait for a year to secure the services of Anderson Talisca
Manchester United are told to wait for a year to sign Anderson Talisca, as Besiktas has activated the clause present on the loan contract to keep the player for one more year.
Besiktas has ended all the speculations of the Brazilian joining Manchester United this summer, as they have activated the clause present on his loan deal to keep him at Turkey for one more year.
Talisca has said earlier that playing for Manchester United is his dream and he also claimed that Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him.
But Besiktas’ president of transfer committee, Umut Guner made it clear that any club interested in the attacking midfielder will have to wait another year to strike a deal with the 23-year old.
Talisca scored 13 goals and added two assists in 22 Super Lig appearances last season and now looks set to stay with the Turkish champions.
“There is no deal with Manchester United or anyone else in place,” Guner said to Hurriyet.
“We agreed to a two-year deal with Benfica. The loan did have a clause that the option [for a second year] had to be activated, which we did.
He also added “Talisca will stay at Besiktas on loan for another season. Reports claiming that he can be signed for his €25m release clause are false, he has a deal with us.
“If a club wants to sign him now they will have to wait another 12 months.”
So the Red Devils will have to wait as Besiktas has already agreed terms with Benfica over extending Talisca’s loan deal for another season.
Talisca has another two years remaining on his Benfica contract and he does have a £22 million release clause. So we will have to wait and see whether Manchester United wait for a year to secure the services of the 23-year old Benfica midfielder.
