“I’d like to thank Kaiserslautern for the last few years and wish them all the best for the coming season,” Pollersbeck said in a statement to Hamburg’s official website. “Now I’m looking forward to a new chapter in the Bundesliga with Hamburg and I hope we can achieve our aims together.”
The German international is currently part of the U-21 squad that has already qualified for the semi-finals of the U-21 European Championship.
Hamburg’s Sporting Director Jens Todt further said:
“Julian is a young and very talented goalkeeper who showed his potential with Kaiserslautern last season. We’ve been observing him for a long time and are convinced of his qualities.”
Hamburg had a torrid campaign last season in which a narrow victory in the final matchday against Wolfsburg, ensured relegation safety, sending Wolfsburg
instead to the relegation play-offs.

They will look to bounce back next season as Die Rothosen construct a youth-centric squad.
