Orja Cup : Karnataka and Tamil nadu will represent south zone
The south phase of Orja CAPF U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament ended today in Karnataka. Hosts Karnataka and Tamil Nadu defeated Kerala in both Boys and a girls category respectively to clinch the prestigious title.
Both sides will represent southzone in the final round of the tournament which is due to be held in Delhi next month.Kerala sides suffered a humiliating defeat in the finals of the tournament as they lost to Karnataka for 5-0 in boys category and to Tamil Nadu for 6-2 in girls category.
The winners of south zone will be awarded with a prize money of one lakh prize and will represent the zone in the final rounds of the championship.The winners of the final rounds will be awarded a prize money of five lakhs.
The tournament is conducted by Central Armed Police Forces with an objective of providing a platform for youngsters to showcase their talents. The event was a grand success in terms of participation, according to the organisers, close to 12500 youth from different part of the country were part of this mega tournament.
