Juventus all set to sign Darmian as a replacement for Manchester City bound Dani Alves.

Despite a great season at Turin Dani Alves wants a move away from Italy and a reunion with his former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City seems likely.

The Brazilian full-back was exceptional in the right back position and replacing him will be a tough call for Massimiliano Allegri. Dani Alves was really a great force on the right side for the Old Lady last season and his departure will be a definite blow for the club.

So Allegri has to look for a replacement sooner than later and Darmian is identified as the ideal candidate. Darmian will be keen to join Juve as he knows that though Jose Mourinho likes him, he is not a fundamental player at Old Trafford and a regular starting spot is far from guaranteed.

The 27-year-old was signed by Louis Van Gaal in 2015 primarily as a right-back but he was often forced to switch flanks because of Luke Shaw’s leg injury. Again this season Antonio Valencia was preferred at the right flank and Darmian again had to play the left back position.

Juve want Darmian as a replacement for Dani Alves and this move will he Darmian playing in his preferred position in the best club in Italy. His versatility to play in different positions on the defensive line makes him a very useful player.

Dani Alves joined Juve for free in the summer after an illustrious trophy-laden eight-year at Barcelona. But despite winning the league and cup double for the Old Lady, the fullback was unsettled in his short stint in Italy and there were rumours that suggested that he was looking for a move back to Barcelona in January.

But now the move away from Turin is very certain and a reunion with Pep Guardiola seems likely for Dani Alves.
Dani Alves’ departure will mean that Juve will look to sign Darmian as his replacement and the deal will be perfect for the Italian international, and a move like this will again give him an opportunity to prove himself at the top level.
