Barcelona youth prospect signs a 5-year contract with the French champions.

The 18-year-old right sided forward has agreed to join AS Monaco for €3 million in search of first team football in Ligue 1.

Mboula has played in various youth divisions for Barcelona and he has earned enough praise and has also attracted a lot of attention in the football world.

His excellent solo goal against Borussia Dortmund in UEFA Youth League earned him comparisons with Lionel Messi and future certainly looks bright for the young starlet. Playing under Leonardo Jardim will be a great experience for Mboula and Monaco in recent years has brought up amazing talents which have now become star players. Mboula can follow the same path in Monaco that is being followed by players like Bakayoko, Mendy, Fabinho and others and they will certainly help him grow.

The youngster has also represented Spain at various age levels and has garnered plenty of attention and praise after scoring some stunning goals.

Mboula told the club’s official website:

“I decided to start a new phase in my career by joining AS Monaco. I was very proud to have defended the colours of FC Barcelona, a club that has given me all its support since I integrated it at the age of nine.”

He also added

” It was there that I trained myself as a player but also as a man. Today I feel ready to join AS Monaco, one of the biggest clubs in Europe.”

“Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev told the club website: “Jordi Mboula has shown very good things with the Barcelona youth team and AS Monaco offers him an ideal environment to continue his progress.”

“As we have done with players such as Bernardo Silva, Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko, we will support him and help him grow in our team.”

Monaco has been busy in this transfer window as Jordi Mboula becomes their fifth signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Youri Tielemans, Soualiho Meite, Jordy Gaspar and Diego Benaglio.
