Historic Parma return to the Serie B
The historic club of Parma will make a return to the Serie B following two consecutive promotions.
Finishing bottom of the Serie A table during the 2014-15 season, Parma went bankrupt. They had to start life in the Serie D after being refounded as Parma Calcio 1913.

The three time European title holders defeated Alessandria Calcio 2-0 in the Lega Pro playoff final to get back into the Italian second flight.
“We fought tooth and nail to win this promotion,” Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli said, who has been with the team since their time in the Serie A.
“Only we in the dressings room know what we have been through.”
After being relegated to the Serie D, I Gialloblù bounced back in style, winning the league and
ending the season unbeaten with 28 wins and 10 draws. Last season, Parma finished runners-up to Pippo Inzaghi’s Venezia FC in their Group B division and thus, missed out on a direct qualification.
However, two goals from Manuel Scavone and Manuel Nocciolini ensured eruption of joy from a crowd that contained a certain Hernán Crespo.
On being promoted, Parma join Cremonese Venezia and Foggia in the Serie B.
