A look at Bayern Munich’s pre-season fixtures

After winning a record fifth consecutive Bundesliga title, the Bayern Munich squad will kick start their pre-season preparations from July 1 onwards.

However, the players on international duty will be given an extended break. Thomas Müller, Jérôme Boateng and Mats Hummels were given the rare privilege of an extended break as they were all spared of Germany’s Confederations Cup trip to Russia.

Bayern are scheduled to play a total of 12 matches across three countries, starting with two friendlies against Bavarian neighbours followed by the Telekom Cup. They are also part of the International Champions Cup which kicks off on July 19 when AS Roma take on Paris Saint-Germain.

July 9 – Bayern play another Bavarian neigbour FSV Erlangen-Bruck.

July 15 – Bayern Munich vs. TSG Hoffenheim/ Borussia Mönchengladbach/Werder Bremen (Telekom Cup)

July 19 – Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal (Audi Summer Tour – Shanghai, China)

July 22 – Bayern Munich vs. AC Milan (Audi Summer Tour – Shenzhen, China)

July 25 – Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea (International Champions Cup – Singapore)

July 27 – Bayern Munich vs. Inter Milan (International Champions Cup – Singapore)

August 1-2 – Bayern Munich vs. Liverpool/ Atlético Madrid/ TBC* (Audi Cup)

August 5 – Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund (German Super Cup)

August 11-14 – Bayern Munich vs. Chemnitz FC (DFB-Pokal first round)

Die Roten then start their Budesliga season at home on August 18.

Beside the pre-season fixtures, Bayern will also play two more matches on August 20 and 30 respectively. They travel to northern Bavaria to play Red Residenz Coburg 01 in the annual Dream Match and then on 30th they play Kickers Offenbach, to help the club from going bankrupt.
