Bayern sign former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry from Werder
Bayern Munich have signed former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry on a three-year deal.
The 21-year old Germany International made his debut in 2012 for the Gunners but struggled to get into the starting XI and after a loan spell with West Brom, he joined Werder Bremen.
His impressive performance of 11 goals from 27 matches for Werder caught the eye of the Bundesliga champions.
Gnabry told the club’s official website:
‘It’s a huge honour for me to sign for Bayern. I have exciting times ahead of me, which I look forward to.’
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added:
‘We’re happy that in Serge Gnabry, another young Germany international has come to Bayern and Serge has developed very well in Bremen.”
Gnabry came through the ranks of the Stuttgart youth academy but left the club for Arsenal before breaking into the first team. He Never managed to secure first team football and moved to Bundesliga last season and has impressed the German champions.
Gnabry becomes Bayern’s third signing in this transfer window as they previously captured Hoffenheim duo Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy.
