Bakayoko all set to become Chelsea’s first summer signing
Tiemoue Bakayoko is all set to join Premier League champions Chelsea FC, according to reports in France.
The AS Monaco star has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with Antonio Conte keen to bolster his midfield this summer.
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea’s board have convinced AS Monaco with their offer and it’s just a matter of time before the blues announce their first signing of this summer.
Chelsea have agreed to pay €40m (€35m) for the dynamic defensive midfielder. It is reported that the French international is also enthusiastic about the prospect of working under Conte.
Chelsea have been in negotiations with Monaco over the last month but they have faced stiff competition from United as Mourinho is also keen to strengthen his squad to put up a strong challenge for the Premier League silverware and the Champions League.
Bakayoko’s arrival has once again fueled speculation surrounding Nemanja Matic’s future. Matic has been heavily linked with a move to United and reports suggest that United have done enough to convince him for a move to Old Trafford.
Bakayoko isn’t the only player on Conte’s wish list, with the Italian boss Ken on signing Lukaku following Costa’s departure.
