Augsburg sign 23 year old German midfielder Rani Khedira from Leipzig on a free transfer. Just like his brother Sami, he used to play his youth football in Stuttgarts youth academy.

He made 56 appearances for Vfb Stuttgart II before making his Bundesliga debut in 2013 for VFB Stuttgart against Hoffenheim which ended 6:2 in favour of Stuttgart. With nine appearances for German top flight club, he then moved to Red Bull Leipzig in 2014 where he made 45 appearances for the club.

The next summer after Leipzig reached the top tier of German football, he failed to earn a place in the starting 11 of the club and was told by the club that he could leave the club on a free transfer.

On thursday he signed for the German club Augsburg on a four year deal ending in 2021. Khedira said in his twitter account, “I am delighted to be here!” and that he would love to help the club to establish itself in the Bundesliga and take the next steps in his career.
