Jonny Williams has signed a new deal at Crystal Palace – to keep him at the Premier League club till 2019.

The 23-year-old midfielder has extended his contract until the summer of 2019 despite being shipped out on loan to Ipswich last season.

He has returned to the Selhurst Park and has signed new contract with them, keeping him at Crystal Palace for 17 years. But Crystal Palace has not yet appointed a new manager after the departure of Sam Allardyce.

Williams said:

“I am delighted to be signing this new contract at a club that holds a special place in my heart having been here since I joined the academy at the age of eight.

“I am looking forward to starting my 17th season at the club.”

He also added,

“With the club’s fifth season in the Premier League coming up I will be working hard through pre-season so I am ready for the challenge ahead at the start of another campaign.”

Williams was injured for a major part of last season which restricted him to just 8 appearances in his loan stint at Ipswich.

He has previously completed loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Milton Keynes Dons. But now the Wales international is determined to impress the new manager, once the club decide to replace Sam Allardyce. But only time will tell whether he stays at the Selhurst Park or grows out of favour for the new manager.
